Shearing Those Alpacas! 

At Sweet Maple Alpacas we love to work with the fiber!  Unfortunately, we can't always find the time!  So Tom decided he would fix that!  He now shears our alpacas and other peoples, too.  In fact, if you're looking for a shearer, he would love to shear yours!

Tom charges $25 per alpaca.  This also includes trimming toenails and teeth, if needed.  In addition, he charges mileage, and any accommodation expenses.  He would be happy to give you an estimate.  You can reach him direct at 802-380-0750.

Tom took a shearing class from Matt Best.  Matt was very positive about Tom's ability in shearing the alpacas, and encouraged him to get out there and shear for other farms. 

Tom has been on the road the last three years of shearing season.  Last year he sheared over 300 alpacas.  This year he has a full calendar!  He will do either huacaya or suri.  He will also do llamas. 

Tom uses mats and restraints on the ground to shear the alpacas.  He will have your alpacas ready to walk into the show ring!
